About the Meeting
The seven states who are recipients of the Emerging Adult Initiative grant agreements meet annually for an EAI Grant Community Meeting. The meeting serves as an opportunity for state teams to work together and to interact with their peers, federal project officers, and TA providers. This year's annual national meeting will have a focus on Looking Toward Successful Fututres: Lessons Learned for Sustainability..
An invitation letter along with a R.S.V.P form and the 'Strategies for Creating Team Member Inclusion and Cohesion' Guide was emailed to each state's HTI Principle Investigator and Project Director. If you have not received the invitation packet, please notify Terri Jackson by phone at (202) 687-5000 or by email at EAI7states@gmail.com.

We have made an assumption that each state Project Director from each EAI grant community will function as the communication lead for this meeting in an effort to create an efficient and effective communication process. If you would like to idenitfy another person from your grant community to function as the communication lead, please forward their contact information via email to Gwen White at firstname.lastname@example.org and copy Terri Jackson at EAI7states@gmail.com as soon as possible.
Your state’s communication lead will be responsible in completing and returning the R.S.V.P. Form to Terri Jackson via email at EAI7states@gmail.com by Friday, April 5, 2013. Each state's communications lead can click here to obtain a copy of the RSVP form.
After the R.S.V.P. form is received, each state team member will receive further instructions on how to register for the meeting.
A room block for EAI meeting participants has been set aside at the Hilton Portland & Executive Towers for the nights of the May 20th, 21st, and 22nd. A limited number of rooms have been reserved for the night of the 23rd for those traveling from the east coast. The special room rate for meeting participants is $135.00 per night for a room in the Main Tower + % state and local tax.
The deadline to make your hotel reservation at the secured group rate is Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Hotel Reservations: To make your hotel reservation, please call 1 (800) 445-8667 and identify yourself as being with the "EAI Meeting" group; or, reserve your room online by clicking here. You will need to provide a credit card in advance to hold your room for the reservation.
Check-in: After 3:00 p.m.; Check-out: Before 12:00 p.m.
Cost: $32.00 per day - This includes in/out privileges and is based upon availability
**PLEASE NOTE: the hotel consists of two buildings (Main & Executive Tower). Please review your reservation room type for building assignment. For your convenience, if your room assignment states EXECUTIVE TOWER, you may arrive and park there directly. The Executive Tower's entrance is located at 545 SW Taylor between 5th and 6th Avenues.
You are responsible for arranging your own travel to and from Portland, Oregon and any cost associated with air, train, and ground transportation. There are two major airports accessible to the Portland area which are listed below.
The hotel does not provide shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. Here are a few travel options that may assist you in your travel between the hotel and airport. Please note that schedule and fares may change. Please contact service providers for current schedules, rates and reservations:
To and from Airports:
Portland International Airport: 30 minutes; 10 miles
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport: 2.5 hours; 175 miles
Ground Transportation to and from Portland International Airport
- Taxi - $35 (typical minimum charge); pick up area is located in the center section of the airport terminal's lower roadway on the baggage claim and departure level
- Shuttles - $14 (typical minimum charge); can be found in the section of the lower roadway closest to the garage
Meeting Cancellation Policy
The TA Center reserves the right to modify or cancel any or all activities associated with this meeting due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event that we have to unexpectedly cancel this meeting, the full registration fee will be returned to each registrant.
Participant Cancellation: To cancel your registration, return to the registration website. Click on the "Already Registered" link and enter the required contact information and confirmation number to access your registration information. Click on "Cancel" on the menu across the top and follow the onscreen instructions to process your cancellation.
